Pain-Free Dentistry

At the Hamilton Dentist, we do our best to ensure the comfort and safety of our patients. We know it’s not always easy for you to relax during a dental visit, and you’re not the only one!

Aside from their easy going approachable personalities, our dentists employs pain free dental techniques to ensure your ultimate comfort. If your treatment requires an anaesthetic, our numbing gel means you won’t even feel the anaesthetic being delivered. After surgery, the time for post treatment recovery is minimised due to the use of non-invasive, gentle dental techniques, which allow you to carry on with your life!

  • What is NOS? (Laughing gas)

Nitrous Oxide (NOS) is commonly known as laughing gas. It is a colourless, non-flammable gas, with a slightly sweet odour and taste. Nitrous Oxide allows you to relax during your treatment, and resume your normal activities after your appointment!
Nitrous oxide sedation is very safe and effective. It is administered through an inhaler over your nose that releases gas when you inhale through your nose. You will feel the effects within minutes and these effects are completely gone within minutes of the gas being turned off after your treatment. You will need to have a preliminary visit with our dentists to make sure that you are an eligible candidate for nitrous sedation.

  • What is oral sedation?

Oral sedation has been commonly used for dental procedures for many years. It can be very successful, and is widely used for both adults and children. It entails taking a prescribed tablet an hour before treatment commences. If you choose oral sedation, we ask that you have someone to drive your home after your treatment is completed.
